CRM Dynamics Makes Charitable Donation to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

CRM Dynamics makes a charitable donation of $15,000 to JDRF – Why we did it?

Let’s face it $15,000 doesn’t grow on trees. So why did we donate $15,000 to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation?

In order to understand why we did it, it’s probably better if we start from the beginning. When CRM Dynamics came into being, Dirk Schrader and Bill Gardner founded the company while attending the University of Western Ontario by asking a simple question why? “Why have so few companies successfully implemented CRM Systems?” Why might be a small word but it usually has a large meaning.

We are committed to the business success of our customers. They choose us because we understand the business of relationship management. And understanding forms the basis of all of our relationships. So when we first met with the great team at JDRF Canada, led by its president Andrew McKee and listened to them explain how diabetes affects 246 million people around the world and that number is growing daily and more than 3 million Canadians have some form of diabetes, we knew that we wanted to make a difference.

We’ve had a long history of helping out causes that we believe in.  In the past, we contributed to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, www.heartandstroke.com and many of our employees also walk and volunteer their time for the “Weekend to End Breast Cancer”. Some of our employees volunteer as Beaver scout troop leaders with Scouts Canada. And CRM Dynamics also hands out grants to the local pee wee hockey association, The Erindale Hockey Association.

So it just made good sense to help out the JDRF. It awards hundreds of millions of dollars annually to T1D research. But what really motivated us to take action was the impact that diabetes has on so many people’s lives.  More than 70,000 children develop type 1 diabetes annually (almost 200 children a day) and that Diabetes is the fourth leading cause of global death by disease, as much as 3.8 million deaths per year.

As parents, we all want what’s best for our children. They represent our future and we live our dreams and aspirations through them. Type 1 diabetes strikes unexpectedly and forces those same children and adults who have been affected to rely on insulin and there can always be complications. We felt that if we could add one drop in the bucket of resources that go towards finding a cure that it would be worth it.

In the 19 years that CRM Dynamics has been in business, we’ve found out that if there is something that affects our clients, it becomes a priority for us too.  We have many clients who are affected directly or have a family member that deals with Diabetes daily. Our small donation is our way to show that we care. And caring is what relationships are all about.
