Employee Spotlight: Kristin McLaughlan

This month we learn about our Director of Marketing, Kristin McLaughlan.

Before coming to CRMD what did you do professionally?

After attending Western University, Kristin moved to Toronto, and then to Northern California for 3 years. Immediately prior to joining CRMD, she worked at Rimrock. There she served as a marketing manager for the company, which primarily sold ERP and CRM solutions to the Field Services industry.  There she launched three successful products/brands with them, FIELDOSS, FIELDBOSS Lift and Elevator 365.

You’ve been all over the world. What is your favorite place that you have visited?

It’s hard to just pick one, but one trip that really sticks out in my mind is Santorini, Greece. If you visit, you’ll fall in love. Santorini has the most beautiful views you will ever see. Because the island is a caldera (a large volcanic crater formed by a volcanic eruption), wherever you are on the island you’ll have gorgeous views of the other side. The whitewashed walls, maze-like streets, beautifully friendly people and utter food-heaven around every corner will knock your socks right off.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?

I’d chose to be able to travel between places instantly – like snap your fingers and appear wherever. I feel like pasta: *pop* appear in Italy. I feel like sushi: *pop* appear in Toyko. I guess a lot of what I do is focused around food. Maybe one day we’ll have a working hyperloop and it’ll be almost as good.

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.

In my 4th year of University, I auditioned for So You Think You Can Dance Canada (SYTYCD) and it was a pretty cool experience! I made the top 100 before I eventually got cut. It also means that I can share some juicy stories about what it’s like to be a part of a reality TV show.I

You can’t control the events or people around you, but you do have control over yourself. All you can do is adjust and do what you can to make a positive impact on your life, health, happiness, and others.
