About the Workshop

Avenai’s Senior Partners will lead you through a workshop designed to help you assess where you are on the transformation journey and share very practical tips to help you lead your organization to the next phase.

Our Avenai panel includes leaders involved in large, complex projects and enterprise transformations. They will discuss their experiences and the role of leadership in the change journey. Whether the changes are understood upfront or just prior to implementation, it’s never too late to mark a baseline, set a vision and plan for a successful change.

Workshop Leaders

Chris Brennan

Chris is a founding partner of Avenai and has 35 years of experience in management consulting and I.T. leadership. He is a senior executive with a proven track record of success as a corporate leader working at the forefront of complexity, scale and business innovation in the private and public sectors in Canada.

Chris is a recognized leader that has shaped new vision, set corporate direction and worked with clients, government stakeholders and shareholders to execute change for the renewal and growth of large organizations in highly competitive national and global markets. ​

As the CIO of ESDC, Chris has personally led the transformation of a large complex I.T. organization and, as the CEO of Innovapost and the CIO of Canada Post has created and led a high performing shared services organization focused on the delivery of I.T. and business transformation services.

Brendon Timmins

Brendan is a founding partner of Avenai, a business and IT services company that specializes in helping business transform into high performing organizations. Prior to Avenai, Mr. Timmins held several leadership positions including CEO of Innovapost, and Partner at Accenture.

Mr. Timmins is a proven business leader with over 30 years experience helping clients shape and deliver strategic transformation programs with clear, measurable results. Mr. Timmins has an authentic style of inspiring and building successful enterprises in both the public and private sectors.

Mr. Timmins is a strong advocate of community involvement.  As a business leader he ensures his organizations bring the same positive impact they have on their clients to those in their community.

Born in Thorold, Ontario, Mr. Timmins holds a B.Comm. from McGill University.  

Laura Matthews

Laura’s 25 year career has been invested in the people side of technology organizations, helping them focus on engaging employees in the organization’s mission and goals.  Her experience has ranged from leading the change effort for large scale systems implementations to facilitating intact leadership teams through culture, values and employee value proposition transformations – and everything in between!  As someone who has gone from consulting, to internal practitioner and executive and back to consulting, Laura has a unique, holistic perspective on change.

Most recently, as Vice President, Human Resources and Communications at Innovapost, Laura’s commitment and focus was the stewardship of the organization’s values, culture and employee engagement.  Prior to joining Innovapost, Laura had many years of experience on the people side of technology starting in her role as a Change Management practitioner at Accenture, working with clients on large scale technology changes, to her work in development and organizational effectiveness at Nortel Networks.

Laura holds a Bachelor of Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo and an Advanced Program Certificate in Human Resources Management from Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto. Her formal education is complemented by certifications in FourSight innovation and problem solving techniques, PROSCI Change Management methodology and Predictive Index behavioural assessment tools.
